Some community projects need forward planning, while others benefit from ongoing support. Our Annual and Multi-Year Grants help local organisations plan ahead, deliver meaningful projects and continue the work they do across the Ashburton District.

Which Grant Is Right for You?
Annual Grants
Annual Grants support planned projects, activities and initiatives that organisations are looking to deliver over the coming year.
Examples might include:
- Planned equipment purchases or facility improvements.
- Community programmes, events or activities.
- Projects included in an organisation's annual planning.
Multi-Year Grants
Multi-Year Grants are intended for organisations seeking support for an initiative or programme that extends beyond a single year.
Examples might include:
- Ongoing community programmes delivered over several years.
- Longer-term educational or development initiatives.
- Projects requiring staged support over more than one year.
These are examples only. All applications are considered individually against the Trust's funding criteria.
BRCT allocates $60,000 annually across Annual and Multi-Year Grants combined. This is one shared funding pool, not $60,000 for each grant type.
Grant Application Checklist
Applications are considered at the February and August granting meetings. Please check the current closing dates before submitting your application.
Please ensure you include the following supporting information:
- Two Quotes
Quotes must be addressed to your organisation, show GST details and include the supplier's contact information. For operating expenses, provide three consecutive months of bills. - Affiliation or Governance Verification
Evidence of affiliation or governance with a regional or national body, where applicable. Sporting groups are required to be affiliated. - Board Resolution or Meeting Minutes
A copy of the board resolution or full meeting minutes supporting your funding application.
