THE LION FOUNDATION

Working Together for Our Community

BRCT works in partnership with The Lion Foundation to support funding opportunities across Mid Canterbury. Funding is generated through gaming proceeds from the five local venues listed below, helping make grants available to community organisations throughout our region.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE DECISIONS

Meet the Regional Grants Committee

The committee includes BRCT's six elected trustees, the Mayor of Ashburton and three independently appointed local residents. Together, they consider applications and help ensure decisions are informed by people who know and understand our community.

COMMUNITY FUNDING

Supporting New Zealand Communities Since 1985

The Lion Foundation has been supporting communities across Aotearoa New Zealand for more than 40 years. Since 1985, it has distributed over $1.1 billion in grants, helping thousands of organisations make a difference in sport, education, health, arts and community wellbeing.

Here in Mid Canterbury, that commitment continues through local gaming venues, community organisations and the Regional Grants Committee.
